Who We Are
Playmakers Basketball Royalties (PBR) is a branch of Playmakers International, a sport specific training and development company in the Atlanta Metro Area that focuses on the overall cognitive, social, academic, and physical development of student athletes.
PBR is a community based organization providing competitive playing opportunities and career advancement opportunities to professional basketball players. Our mission is to be an avenue for high caliber players to continue to advance their careers or even restart their careers while giving back to the community that supports them.
PBR is home to two professional basketball teams: the Atlanta Monarchs Women’s Blue Chip Basketball Team, and the ATL Pharaohs 2018 American Basketball Association Men’s Basketball Team.
What We Do
PBR recruits, trains, and elevates the careers of pro and semi-pro athletes, as well as athletes looking to play at these higher levels.
Each Playmakers Basketball Royalties team has 10-15 highly competitive players. Collectively, the teams will play in more than 15 home games and 15 away games, travelling all over the country. Our home games will feature competitive games, dance teams, cheerleaders, family friendly music, and guest appearances by national celebrities and professional athletes.
Additionally, the organization is scheduled to appear at over 40 local and out-of- state community service events, camps, clinics, and tournaments in 2018 and has an international reach through EuroBasket, Federal International Basketball Association and tours and clinics in which our players participate.
We’ve partnered with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department to assist with building positive relationships between the community and law enforcement and to enhance their youth programs through sports and community events. Our partnership also includes hosting community events, such as our March 24th City of Atlanta’s Pre-Season Showdown, an inaugural basketball tournament commencing the partnership between the Atlanta Fire and Law Enforcement Agencies, PBR and the Atlanta community.
We are planning to host a similar basketball tournament, in June 2018 in the city of Philadelphia, in partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia’s Law Enforcement Agencies.
Playmakers Basketball Royalties has also partnered with Atlanta’s Young Misses, a 501c3 organization that, since 2012, has been successfully using extra-curricular activities to assist young girls, grades 3rd through 12th with improving and maintaining self-esteem and academic success.
We have a similar partnership with the Jimmy Lee Smith Community Center in Stockbridge, GA.
Our Monarchs’ coaches and players serve, year round, as mentors, tutors, trainers, and coaches to young female athletes and provide them with the tools necessary to compete for athletic and academic scholarships.
